The current economic climate has made it more important than ever for consumers to shop around for the best credit cards, according to a major consumer body.
Which? senior researcher Cathy Neal claimed the fallout of the credit crisis has made it more vital for people to review their cards on a regular basis and ensure new fees have not "crept in" to their deals.
She added that consumers should make sure they are aware of whether their own spending habits still suit the offers they have on their plastic.
"If companies keep changing their cards then it's hard for consumers to keep track of what's what for their own card," she explained.
"Even if you've got the best credit card today, keep checking it every two months to make sure that it still is one of the best."
Ms Neal's comments have come after CreditExpert.co.uk revealed that 29 per cent of consumers felt money was tighter this year because of the credit crunch.
